Pacific Hospital's Department of Dermatology offers services in several specialty areas:

Dermatology provides expertise in the diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of dermatologic care, including:

Other procedures include:

  • narrow band UVB therapy
  • photodynamic therapy for precancerous lesions and acne
  • Mohs micrographic (skin cancer) surgery

 

   One of our fastest-growing services is also one of our oldest, Mohs micrographic surgery.  The department now performs approximately 1,300 Mohs procedures annually and plans to perform more than 1,500 in the next year by expanding this service.  Mohs micrographic surgery provides the highest cure rate for high-risk nonmelanoma skin cancers, while sparing the maximum amount of normal skin, thereby minimizing scarring. 

   A departmental newsletter, Coast Dermatology Skin Update, is published quarterly and mailed to current and former patients. This publication offers articles on basice dermatologic care, therapies, and innovative procedures.
